Manchester United return to the Premier League with a visit from Leeds United at Old Trafford on Monday night

Manchester United have seven games left to secure Champions League football next year. The Red Devils have been building momentum under Michael Carrick since he joined on an interim basis, winning seven of 10 games under their former captain.
Next up, United face a visit from Leeds as they aim to strengthen their grip on the European spots. While Carrick's men need the points at the top of the table, their old foes are still looking nervously over their shoulders at the bottom.
Harry Maguire is suspended for the clash but Carrick could welcome Lisandro Martinez back from injury to replace him in the starting line-up. Discussing the Argentinian's optential to return to domestic duty, the interim boss said: "It's just that call that we make.
"We wouldn't be pushed into anything. I think it's important that the boys are ready. So that's a decision that we'll take. He's back training, which is great, and back on the grass. But we've certainly got to make the right decision and make sure he's ready."
Bruno Fernandes promise
Bruno Fernandes has spoken about his desire for United to be competitive for silverware. The club captain is enjoying a great individual season but arguably hasn't experienced the sort of trophy success his qualities deserve.
Despite the limited silverware he has won at the club, Fernandes will remain content at United as long as they continue to be in contention for the title. He told the Telegraph: "What I always say to the club is: ‘You can’t promise me that I’m going to win the Premier League.

"That’s impossible. But if you promise me that we’re going to be competitive and we’re going to be there at the end... that’s all I need to know. Because then it’s on me to become the best version of myself, to help everyone around to become the best version of themselves, to become the club we want to be."
Fernandes has missed out on two Europa League trophies with United but believes just being "in the fight" is what matters most to him. He added: "Everyone that comes to Man United wants to win every trophy.
"'No one thinks in coming to the club that we’re going to fight for one or two trophies in six years. You want to fight for all of them. Then we went to three finals and didn’t win. That can happen. But at least you’ve been there in the fight. We were close. And what I said to the club every time that I spoke with them, what I want from the time I’m here, I want to compete. Because if I compete, I will be close to winning."

Casemiro will be keeping an eye on Jesse Lingard's progress in the Brazilian league after he signed a one-year deal with Corinthians in March. The United midfielder spent three years in his homeland league at the beginning of his career and is keen for Lingard to get back to his best domestically.
During an exclusive fan Q&A, Casemiro was asked of he will be tuning into Lingard's games for Corinthians. He said: "Of course, a player of this level - especially one who played in one of the biggest clubs in Europe, here at Manchester United - to play at Corinthians is welcome for the league.
"Each year, the league is getting more competitive and more interesting. It will be important to have these players in the league, and I wish him the best, that everything goes well in Corinthians."
Casemiro is set to leave United at the season's end after enjoying four years in Manchester. Lingard himself was a product of the club's academy and made 232 appearances for United, scoring 35 goals and assisting 21 times.
While Lingard left in the same summer that Casemiro joined, the veteran midfielder has given his seal of approval on the 33-year-old's transfer and will be watching out for him in Brazil in the future.
