Liverpool have a two-goal deficit to overcome as they prepare to host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Reds lost the first leg in the French capital 2-0.

Although Arne Slot's side returned to winning ways in the Premier League when they triumphed 2-0 over Fulham on Saturday, attention now turns to Europe and the Champions League quarter-finals.

Last week, strikes from Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave PSG a 2-0 advantage heading into the second leg. The likes of Mohamed Salah and Rio Ngumoha, who scored their side's goals at the weekend, will look to play a role in reversing the tie.

Arne Slot urged to make PSG decision

In light of his on-pitch exploits, former Reds defender Steve Nicol thinks that the teenage Ngumoha should be one of the first names on Slot's teamsheet for the clash with PSG. He urged the Dutch manager to start him in place of Cody Gakpo.

Nicol said on ESPN FC: "Right now Liverpool are searching for positives and there's no question that Ngumoha is a positive. Absolutely. He scares defenders.

"If you go back to the tried and trusted Gakpo, [Hugo] Ekitike through the middle and Mo on the right then I can guarantee that whoever's playing right-back doesn't mind playing against Gakpo."

"If you play Ngumoha, the full-back number one doesn't know much about Ngumoha, he doesn't want to play against him. The kid's already scored a goal. He's involved in the second goal as well, so there's absolutely no way you shouldn't start Ngumoha on one side.

"Yes, I also think you have to start Salah in this game, particularly because he scored a goal, and then Ekitike should be through the middle."

Rio Ngumoha reveals dream number

With Ngumoha looking set to continue flourishing in the Premier League, the club conducted a Q&A with the young Englishman.

He currently wears 73, but when asked what shirt number he'd perhaps like to occupy in the future, Ngumoha said: "Seventy-three holds a special place in my heart, obviously the first number I received.

"It was just random. But my dream number would be 11. Watching Neymar play for Barcelona and Mo obviously has broken all the records with No.11."

Salah will of course exit the club at the end of this season, potentially leaving the No. 11 up for grabs. Ngumoha also touched on some advice that the Egyptian has given him before his departure.

"One time after training he told me the top, top players, along with your ability they also get goals and assists," said Ngumoha on Salah. "Obviously he has broken many records, so him saying that to me and saying he knows I'm a good player but to get to the next level just add the goals and assists [was advice he's given me]."
