Yan Diomande is a transfer target for Liverpool ahead of the summer window.

Liverpool-linked winger Yan Diomande continued his scintillating form to push Red Bull Leipzig towards Champions League qualification.

Diomande proved to be the match-winner in Leipzig’s 1-0 triumph over Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Ivory Coast international scored a fine goal in the 80th minute, ensuring that Die Roten Bullen stay fourth in the Bundesliga table and four points above Bayer Leverkusen.

Diomande has enjoyed a remarkable maiden campaign at Leipzig after his move from CD Leganes last summer. The 19-year-old has recorded 12 goals and eight assists in 31 appearances.

As a result, his performances have attracted plenty of attention. Liverpool have Diomande on their radar as a potential replacement for Mo Salah, who will bring the curtain down on his nine-year Anfield career in the summer.

Diomande’s performances for Leipzig have come as a surprise given his age and inexperience. Mönchengladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder said via GOAL: "I don't think anyone would have predicted that Diomande would develop into such a superstar player. It's a game-changer.

In addition, Mönchengladbach captain David Raum couldn’t believe that Leipzig paid just £18 million for Diomande. He said: "I looked at his market value and then considered how much we paid. I briefly inquired whether we had made a typo in the offer or what the problem was.”

Diomande was also lavished with praise by Leipzig centre-back Will Orban. The Hungary international said via the Leipziger Volkszeitung: “He's an exceptional player, incredibly consistent for his age. And he's very advanced, also in his decision-making, clear-headed, hardworking, and tracks back. For me, Yan already represents top international level.”

Liverpool could look to pursue a move for Diomande in the upcoming transfer window, although it will not be cheap. Leipzig reportedly value Diomande at around £85 million, while they do no want to sell this summer. There are suggestions that the Saxony outfit are more willing to offload other members of their squad, including Castello Lukeba.
