Richard Hughes 'will be on the phone' for £60m attacker, journalist has been told

Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs showing serious interest in highly rated forward Eli Junior Kroupi, with the youngster emerging as one of the most sought-after attacking talents ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to CaughtOffside journalist Mark Brus, Liverpool and Chelsea both hold what has been described as a “very concrete interest” in the Bournemouth attacker as they explore potential attacking reinforcements.

The report claims Liverpool are seriously considering a move for 19-year-old Junior Kroupi, with sources indicating that both the Reds and Chelsea are keen to make a deal happen this summer.

Brus reports: “After doing a bit of digging after yesterday’s game, I was not too surprised to find growing interest in Kroupi, who has long been on the radar of top clubs, but who is now likely to be a priority target.

“’Liverpool and Chelsea have a very concrete interest, they’re both really keen to make a deal happen this summer and are looking into it,’ one source said.

“’I wouldn’t be surprised if Liverpool have already had some conversations,’ another source told me. ‘Richard Hughes has a good relationship with his former club and will be on the phone to his counterparts there after that performance yesterday.’”

Interest in the teenager is said to be growing rapidly following his breakthrough campaign, with several top clubs now tracking his development closely.

Bournemouth are understood to be aware of the mounting attention surrounding the young forward, who has established himself as one of the most exciting emerging attackers in the Premier League.

Liverpool’s recruitment model has increasingly focused on high-upside young players in recent years, making Kroupi a natural fit for their long-term strategy if a deal becomes financially viable.

Competition intensifying for Kroupi

This season, the 19-year-old has 10 goals in the Premier League, making it very unsurprising that the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool are paying close attention.

Chelsea are currently viewed as one of Liverpool’s main rivals in the race, with both clubs believed to be actively exploring the feasibility of a summer move.

The presence of multiple high-profile suitors could drive up the final transfer fee, with Bournemouth expected to demand a significant sum to part ways with one of their most valuable young assets.

While no formal offers have yet been confirmed, the description of interest as “very concrete” suggests that talks could develop quickly once the transfer window officially opens.

Brus reports: “Expect other names to come up soon as well, with sources indicating Bournemouth could let Kroupi go for just £55-60m.”

Liverpool are expected to sign multiple wide attackers this summer after letting Luis Diaz leave last summer and with Mohamed Salah set to leave the club at the end of the season.
