Leeds United are among the clubs chasing Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Haris Tabaković for the summer.

The striker’s performances for the Bundesliga side would have convinced the Whites to consider him as a target.

Earlier this month, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany of Leeds United’s interest in the 31-year-old. The same source also said Gladbach will make a decision on his future at the end of this season.

He joined the German club on a season-long loan deal from TSG Hoffenheim in July 2025 and has impressed so far this season. The frontman has scored 13 goals and contributed three assists from 31 matches so far.

His Bundesliga stats this season are as follows:

Appearances: 28

Starts: 24

Total minutes: 2,055

Minutes per game: 73

Goals: 11

Assists: 2

Expected Goals: 11.19

Expected Assists: 0.75

Big chances missed: 7

Leeds United face battle with 2 clubs

Rheinische Post, a newspaper local to Borussia Mönchengladbach, now cover the latest on Haris Tabaković and Leeds United interest.

Gladbach are 14th in the table, nine points above the relegation zone [18 teams in the Bundesliga].

Haris Tabaković’s future beyond this season remains uncertain and Gladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder says a Bundesliga stay is key to retain him.

“It will only be possible to discuss fundamental transfers once we know whether we’re in the Bundesliga,” he said.

Meanwhile, he’s attracting interest from Daniel Farke’s side, Lille and VfL Wolfsburg, who are 17th in the Bundesliga. The report states the latter have already held talks and want to sign him irrespective of whether they are in the top flight.

The player doesn’t seem to consider his current club as part of his plans after this season.

“For me, it’s five games; the focus is on keeping the club in the league, that’s my job. Then I hope to go to the World Cup healthy. After that, as things stand, I’ll be a Hoffenheim player,” he said.

Schröder says the Bosnia and Herzegovina international’s future will be discussed soon, but the financial aspect rules them out.

Hoffenheim are demanding €5m for their player and Gladbach don’t have the funds to buy the player. This may not be the case with Leeds United, who would certainly find the price affordable.

Contract, value and agent info

As things stand, Haris Tabaković will return to Hoffenheim, where he has a contract until 2027. Transfermarkt now value him €3m, which is €2m less than the fee demanded by his parent club.

German agency Rogon are managing the player desired by Leeds United and other clubs.

Everything indicates the Bosnian is set to leave Hoffenheim permanently and it’ll be interesting to see where he will end up in the summer.
