Man Utd are interested in signing Wolves midfielder Andre, according to reports in the Brazilian media.

RTI Esporte claims the 24-year-old has the “endorsement” of Casemiro. The 34-year-old will be leaving Old Trafford when his contract expires this summer, and it appears he has given his backing to the Red Devils signing a fellow countryman as his replacement.

Andre is currently valued at £35m by Wolves, but it is believed that his asking price will drop when his club are relegated.

Rob Edwards’ team are 15 points off safety with six games to go, and their fate is expected to be sealed over the next two to three weeks.

Man Utd are targeting 2 midfielders

Journalist Fabrizio Romano and others have reported that Director of Football Jason Wilcox is hoping to add two additions in the middle of the park this summer.

Of course, with a limited transfer budget, United are unlikely to splash out £100m on every player, so while a considerable amount could be devoted to signing the likes of Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali or Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, a second midfielder may be purchased for a significantly lower fee. In that context, you can understand why Andre is on the club’s radar.

Andre has two other suitors

RTI Esporte report that Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on the Wolves star.

It is believed that both are seeking a player with the attributes that Andre possesses. He is accurate with his passing, provides intensity out of possession, while he is disciplined enough to mark opposing players.

From the looks of things, there could be a scramble for the player’s signature once Wolves are relegated and his price tag drops to a bargain amount.
