Murillo claims unwanted PL record after Nottingham Forest draw, Marc Guehi matches him

Murillo was in action for Nottingham Forest against Aston Villa on Sunday and managed to get himself on an unwanted Premier League list.

The Brazilian is a wanted man when it comes to the top European teams, and the time for him to leave could come during the summer transfer window.

Who was your Man of the Match vs Aston Villa?

Murillo has been a standout performer at Forest in his time at the football club, and the defender is very much a big player as Vitor Pereira looks to secure Premier League survival.

After putting through his own net once again against Aston Villa, however, Murillo has now matched two players with an unwanted Premier League record.

Murillo matches two players for most own goals

Since the start of the 2023/24 campaign – the year in which Murillo signed for Forest – he’s now scored three own goals, and that puts him top of the list.

His latest own goal was extremely unfortunate, but he’s now level with Manchester City star Marc Guehi and West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos with three own goals across that period.

Murillo will be devastated to put through his own net once again, but thankfully, Neco Williams did bail him out by equalising later in the first half and earning Forest a point.

The left-footed defender will be so important for Forest between now and the end of the season, and the hope will be that he can quickly park his own goal at the weekend.

Murillo can bounce back from latest own goal

Forest have to make sure they have all of their best players firing on all cylinders in the final weeks of the season, and Murillo is one of them.

One ordinary performance doesn’t make a bad player, and Murillo will almost certainly bounce back from this latest own goal.

🤑How much is Murillo worth to Nottingham Forest?

Let us know in the comments below….

The Reds need Murillo if they’re to ensure safety this season, and alongside Nikola Milenkovic, the two central defenders remain extremely important.

This record is absolutely unwanted, but Murillo has character in abundance, and surely he can shake this off ahead of a big week for the Reds.
