Bradley Barcola return confirmed in 22-man PSG squad vs. Liverpool

Bradley Barcola will travel to Liverpool after being named in Paris Saint-Germain’s 22-man squad for the Champions League quarter-final decider.

Barcola missed the first leg in Paris due to an ankle injury sustained last month, but has proved his fitness for the decider at Anfield.

The winger, who was linked to Liverpool during the summer, had rejoined training ahead of Liverpool’s visit last week and will likely now be in contention to start.

He is the only addition to PSG’s squad as they remain without midfielder Fabian Ruiz and young winger Quentin Ndjantou, with the former creating quite the story by reportedly pulling himself out of contention.

The Spaniard has been sidelined with a knee injury that PSG believe has healed, but the player remains reluctant to play, leading to his latest absence from the French side’s squad.

Luis Enrique, therefore, has the opportunity to start the same XI that dominated at the Parc des Princes and allowed Liverpool to walk away with a flattering scoreline.

After their top-of-the-table Ligue 1 fixture against Lens was postponed, PSG have had the week off to rest, recover and plan for the Anfield leg, which requires Liverpool to overcome a 2-0 deficit.

Arne Slot‘s side conversely played on Saturday, making five changes to their lineup, affording rest to Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez, while Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister both came off the bench.

The Reds are expected to be without Curtis Jones after he was forced off with a groin injury, leaving Slot pessimistic over his chances of recovering in time.
