Celtic legend Scott Brown couldn't help himself from firing a cheeky dig at Rangers when asked if Glasgow's big two could ever seriously compete in the English Premier League.
Brown - who is out of work after getting sacked by Ayr United last month - was in the English capital last weekend to take part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon.
And the former Hoops captain also took the opportunity to appear on the Midnite Sports podcast. The episode saw five Scottish Football fans try to convince five fans from England's top tier that over time, Premiership clubs could hold their own down south.
And when pointing out the disparity in resources between the two divisions, Brown poked fun at his old rival Gers' expense after the trials and tribulations of 2012.
He said: "Quality wise, give it a couple of years and we'd be right up there. We would get £100million from getting relegated which sounds good.
"You get £150million for staying in the Premier League. For winning the Scottish Premiership we get £4million. The last time when the money was equal, Liverpoolcame up with a really, really good team and we sent them back down the road packing (in 2003).
"We need to make sure that financially, the clubs are stable…" before pausing and turning to the Rangers fan present at the debate to add "some of them."
"At this moment in time we would have to really graft to stay in the Premier League to start with and from there we would push on.
"Celtic Park and Ibrox would fill out and they'd have to expand the stadiums with the amount of Celtic and Rangers fans all over the world."
