“The worry is…” – Chris Sutton drops concerning Leeds United claim for Old Trafford

Leeds United travel to Old Trafford tonight to take on Manchester United, hopeful of claiming a surprise scalp on the road.

Leeds are finally back in Premier League action this evening. It’s arguably our toughest remaining game of the season, away to Man United.

If Daniel Farke is to make Leeds’ position much safer above the relegation zone, a result at Old Trafford would be priceless.

Chris Sutton predicts Leeds United outcome away at Manchester United

Few, if any, will be expecting an away win this evening as we make our way over the Pennines. Michael Carrick’s aims to consolidate in the Champions League mean we couldn’t ask for a much tougher game ay the moment.

That being said, BBC pundit Chris Sutton is impressed with the work Farke’s been doing at Elland Road since promotion.

Although Sutton admires the work of his fellow former Norwich man, he predicts Farke’s Leeds to come away from Old Trafford with a 2-1 defeat.

“I love the job Daniel Farke has done at Leeds United. It is great to see them at Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final, but the worry is that they picked up a few injuries in their win over West Ham United,” Sutton wrote.

“Michael Carrick has really turned Manchester United around, to the extent where they are basically nailed on for Champions League football next season.

“I don’t think anyone would back against them at Old Trafford at the moment, either. I can only see a home win here, with Bruno Fernandes being integral again.”

Leeds United hope for Premier League relegation boost with positive Man Utd result

It’s a tall order to expect anything from this game tonight. Man Utd are in fine form and looking to make their standing in the top five much stronger.

That being said, our away performances have improved in 2026 even with our lack of goals lately. Is there a world where we pull off a huge shock?

Even a draw tonight would have Leeds fans feeling so much more confident about survival, with favourable home games looming.
