Aston Villa hotshot Ben Broggio scored yet another goal while on loan with Falkirk last weekend, and he is looking increasingly likely to fill the boots of Leon Bailey next season.

The right-winger was loaned out to the Scottish Premiership side in the winter window, as Bailey was recalled from his short stay with Roma.

Both moves were made with the best intentions of each player, but Broggio looks to be the winner right now as he scored yet another goal for Falkirk, despite a 6-3 loss to Rangers this Sunday.

Unai Emery doesn’t seem to be a fan of Bailey any more, as the Jamaican looks void of any confidence that he once had at Villa Park.

Broggio could be Bailey’s direct upgrade for next season, with the 19-year-old’s latest performance evidence of why.

Broggio will stay with Falkirk until the end of the season, where he will then return to Bodymoor Heath for pre-season this summer.

The Englishman will aim to impress Emery on the training pitch, but the Aston Villa boss will surely already have his eye on the youngster, who keeps on shining in Scotland.

Broggio’s stats vs Rangers, as per FotMob

As seen in the table above, Broggio earned a 7.7 FotMob rating for his display against Rangers. He had a 100 per cent shot on goal accuracy, while also chipping in at the other end with five successful ground duels.

He wasn’t dispossessed a single time in the match, made three tackles, and completed 10 out of his 16 pass attempts.

The teenager’s goal had an expected goal rate of 0.65, but he showed composure at the right time to net his fourth goal in nine league games for Falkirk.

It’s not just his display against Falkirk that has been impressive, but his overall average stats in the Scottish Premiership, as he averages two dribbles per match at a 62.5 per cent success return.

He is looking more and more like a direct improvement on Bailey with each passing game.

How has Leon Baily performed since Aston Villa return?

Bailey’s performance in the away win to Newcastle shortly after his return from Roma gave supporters hope that he could rekindle his previous form under Emery.

However, in 13 appearances, he has managed just two goal contributions, as he didn’t manage a single minute in the 1-1 draw to Nottingham Forest.

Bailey has played 31 minutes in the last five games for Villa

He has made just two league starts since returning

Bailey averages a 6.41 FotMob rating in the league since returning to B6 this winter, and has an unfamiliar dribble rate of 19 per cent.

If Broggio’s form and current readings are anything to go by, then the former could see himself get an important role at Villa next campaign, with the door surely open for Bailey’s exit.
