David Moyes adds £34m Frenchman to Everton's transfer shortlist

Everton have several first-teamers out of contract at the end of the season.

Idrissa Gana Gueye is one of those who is currently due to leave in the summer, so Everton are in the process of drawing up a list of potential replacements.

That said, Middlesbrough talisman Hayden Hackney has been linked with a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes is also on David Moyes’ radar, although that deal will probably depend on whether the Hammers suffer relegation.

Now, a French midfielder is emerging as a target for the Toffees.

David Moyes adds Arthur Atta to Everton’s shortlist

According to TuttoSport, Everton are showing an interest in Udinese midfielder Arthur Atta ahead of the summer transfer window.

Atta, who has represented France at youth level, was heavily linked with a move to Fulham in January.

In fact, the Cottagers submitted a £21m bid for the 23-year-old, although it was swiftly rejected by the Serie A side.

Udinese are demanding around £34m to sanction his sale, so it certainly won’t be a cheap deal to do for the Toffees.

Would this be a good signing on a one-year deal? 🤔

Kieran Trippier question.

It’s understood that the Merseysiders have a great relationship with Udinese due to the Beto transfer in 2023.

Atta is also open to leaving, so it seems this transfer has serious legs to it. The only stumbling block would be the transfer fee.

Moyes is believed to be prioritising a centre-forward, and that’s expected to take up a large chunk of his budget.

Argentinian striker Flaco Lopez has been linked to Everton in a £35m deal, and Atletico Madrid frontman Alexander Sorloth is another high-profile target, too.

The Scotsman will have to weigh up whether signing Atta would be a sensible use of his funds, or if a striker, a full-back and a centre-back are more pressing positions to upgrade in.
