Following West Ham’s resounding 4-0 victory against Wolves, it seems there’s been a pretty serious reassessment of Nuno’s chances of keeping the Hammers in the Premier League.
More so since Tottenham lost away at Sunderland yesterday and now sit two points below West Ham’s seventeenth position.
After Nuno’s team beat his former side Wolves, TalkSPORT’s Tony Cascarino summed up the Irons’ dramatic turn around in form which has seen them finally climb out of the relegation zone with just six games to play. In particular, the former Republic of Ireland striker drew parallels with West Ham’s shocking performance last time out against the same opponents:
“At the start of January, Wolves beat West Ham 3 – 0 and beat them comfortably. Since that point West Ham have taken 18 points from 12 matches. Nuno has managed this team and got them in a really good spot. Because they were down. They were absolutely down not so long ago.
Before Taty started scoring – Cascarino claims ‘West Ham were down”

There’s been a massive turnaround. Nuno has done an amazing job of turning it all round, adding pace up front, even like Traore coming in – who is an enigma sometimes – his blistering pace causes problems. He came on as a sub – he can be frightening to the opposition – so it’s been a huge turnaround at West Ham.
And in something of a surprise prediction Cascarino gave his own forecast of the outcome of next week’s crucial London derby:
They could go to Crystal Palace and beat them, the way they are at the moment.”
Amen to that. Palace have a game on Thursday night in Europe whilst West Ham have the whole week to recuperate and prepare for their next ‘cup final’ which could be pivotal. Let’s hope Cascarino has read it right.
