Blackpool secured a crucial 3-1 victory over Peterborough United at the weekend.
Dale Taylor demonstrated what Blackpool had been missing on Saturday afternoon in the 3-1 victory over Peterborough United.
The 22-year-old has endured a frustrating first season at Bloomfield Road since his summer move from Nottingham Forest.
Following several months on the sidelines with a hamstring issue, the forward made his initial return to action just before Christmas.
After registering a goal and an assist away to his former loan club Wigan Athletic, Taylor was handed a start on Boxing Day against Doncaster Rovers, but lasted just six minutes before being forced off with a broken metatarsal.
This prompted another lengthy spell out of action, with his latest return coming at the end of last month.
The Peterborough game marked his first start of 2026, and he immediately made a positive impression - bagging the opening goal after two minutes.
The Northern Ireland international’s second came after the break, as the Seasiders secured an important win in the battle at the bottom of League One.
“I’m delighted - he’s worked so hard,” Blackpool head coach Ian Evatt said.
“He’s a pleasure to be around. We invested in him heavily and we’ve had to support him because he’s had a lot of difficulties this season.
“We’ve got around him, and I’ve seen, especially in the last week, the quality he has. We’ve missed him, and we’ve missed some of our big players - Albie (Morgan) who we haven’t had on the pitch enough and Michael Ihiekwe who’s been playing 50 percent fit all season.
“Fingers crossed we can get to the summer still as a League One team, and then next season you’ll see a different version of what this club can be.
“We work with Dale and we coach him - that’s why we invested the money we did, to see signs like the ones against Peterborough.
“When you pay so much for a striker and you’ve not had him for the majority of the season, it’s those moments you miss. He showed in two moments what we’ve missed with some clinical finishing.”
