Hull City could be without Lewis Koumas this weekend when Birmingham City venture to the MKM Stadium.

Koumas, 20, has fared better for Hull than he did for Blues in the first half of the season since he switched Championship clubs in January.

The Liverpool loanee has netted three times for Hull in 13 league games to become an important option for Sergej Jakirovic after struggling for regular starts at St Andrew’s.

There is doubt over whether Koumas will be available to play against his former club due to an injury sustained before Hull’s defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday.

“Koumas felt his hamstring on Thursday in the training session,” Jakirovic confirmed to Hull Live.

Another ex-Blues loanee, Cody Drameh, is also a doubt for the Tigers after succumbing to an injury at Bramall Lane.

"He felt pain in his quad," Jakirovic added. "So we'll see after his medical check what is the damage.

"I didn't ask him but it's the same quad that he had problems with I don't know how many weeks ago. We will see, we are used to this, we are losing one player per game."

More promising for Hull is the imminent return of influential left-back Ryan Giles. Giles, who has eight assists in the Championship this term, is expected to resume training this week after almost two months without a game.
