Real Madrid set to sell Gonzalo Garcia next summer -report

Real Madrid have decided to sell striker Gonzalo García this upcoming summer with a similar kind of deal than the ones they used when they parted ways with players like Nico Paz, Jacobo Ramon or Chema Andrés in the past few years, according to a report from The Athletic. That means that Real Madrid will keep 50% of Gonzalo García’s rights and that the Spanish attacker could very well return to the Santiago Bernabéu if he performs at a high level in his next club.

García emerged as a first-team player when he replaced Kylian Mbappé in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. He scored four goals during the tournament and secured his presence in the roster for the 2025-26 season. However, he has only played 1,200 minutes so far this season and couldn’t establish himself in the rotation when Mbappé was injured.

Gonzalo will get an opportunity to play more consistent minutes next season, so it will be interesting to see if he can show his potential once again.
