Dominik Szoboszlai has faced the media ahead of Liverpool’s quarter-final second leg against PSG, laying out the one requirement he has of his teammates for Tuesday night’s clash.
After a testing few weeks, Liverpool looked better against Fulham at the weekend. Now, they must put in their best performance of the season if they are to have any hope of getting past PSG.
The Anfield atmosphere will play into their hands, but Szoboszlai made it clear Liverpool know they must raise their level, both tactically and mentally, for one of the biggest nights of their campaign.

Dominik Szoboszlai’s rallying call to Liverpool teammates
In his press conference, Szoboszlai was asked about what they need to do differently from last week.
Rather than delve into the football side of things, he emphasised the importance of leaving everything out there. He said he is ‘prepared to die’ on the pitch, and hopes his teammates will approach the game with that same mentality.
He says: “We can talk about tactics but I’m not going to open it up publicly. It’s going to be a different game for sure. We are going to do different stuff in a different way. We saw what they did in first game and we will try to manage it now.

“But we need to go in. Give everything that is possible. End of the game say to yourself you gave everything and we still don’t go through, then we can keep our chin up and say we tried it. I believe there is a big opportunity tomorrow.”

The midfielder also pointed to the role Anfield can play, with Liverpool hoping the atmosphere can help drive them on in a high-pressure occasion.
“Anfield is going to make a big impact tomorrow. We saw it many times this and last season for sure, it’s going to be not only 11 and subs, it’s the whole stadium and we know how it feels to be at Liverpool with these fans at Anfield. We don’t need any more motivation.”
Dominik Szoboszlai has been Liverpool’s Champions League MVP
Szoboszlai has been Liverpool’s best player this season, and he has seemed to come alive on European nights.
He has five goals and four assists in 11 appearances, including a winner against Inter Milan and a sublime free-kick against Marseille.
Where will Dominik Szoboszlai rank among PL midfielders when all is said and done?

The best players do it on the biggest stage and the Hungarian has not let us down in that regard. If anyone in this Liverpool team is going to produce that heroic moment, Szoboszlai is as safe a bet as anyone.
If he can make the difference, it will push him into some serious conversations of best midfielders — or even best players — in Europe.
