Carrick stated that the Argentine defender is “back in training” and that United must “make sure he’s ready” to return. Mason Mount could be back available for United, however, the interim United boss did state, “We’ve just got to give him the time to get fit again and be patient with that, but he’s certainly in a good place right now.”

Out: Dan James (muscle injury), Joe Rodon (ankle), Anton Stach (ankle)
Available: Jaka Bijol and Noah Okafor could be available for Leeds, although both men missed training this week. Boss, Daniel Farke is hopeful that both men could feature in some capacity, however. Gabi Gudmundsson is a doubt, although he could be nursed through the match due to other injuries within the team.
