The Toffees are gearing up for a busy summer in the transfer market with a number of new signings predicted

Everton’s bold push for European football continued last weekend, as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s dramatic stoppage time strike saw David Moyes’ side secure a 2-2 draw against Brentford. As things stand, the Toffees are now eighth in a tightly-packed Premier League table, three points ahead of 12th but only one point off sixth.

Everton predicted summer transfer window - players bought and loaned in

Merih Demiral - £10m from Al-Ahli: Everton wasted no time getting down to business, splashing the cash on the 28-year-old centre-back. He swapped a presumably obscene Saudi Pro League salary for a taste of Premier League football, ending a three-season spell in the Middle East. He’s a 61-cap Turkey international and won Serie A with Juventus back in 2020. A savvy bit of business at £10m, it must be said.

Keane Lewis-Potter - £20m from Brentford: The Everton chequebook opened again two weeks later, with the versatile forward making his way from the capital to Goodison Park on a four-year deal. Capable of playing at full-back and attacking midfield on either flank, and also as a centre-forward, his sheer versatility makes him a manager’s dream.

Kota Tawaratsumida - £25m from Tokyo FC: Now we’re talking. Everton took a serious gamble by signing the relatively unproven 21-year-old Japan international who has been tipped for big things. He’s a demon dribbler of a left winger, according to the series of terribly soundtracked, sped up YouTube compilations dedicated to him.

Nicolo Fagioli - £7.5m from Fiorentina: Everton continued to find excellent value in the summer market, plucking the seven-time Italy international from Serie A. While he’s not exactly Andrea Pirlo, he’s that kind of player, capable of dictating play from the heart of midfield and carving opposition defences apart with pinpoint passing. At less than £8m, the Toffees got themselves a serious steal.

Tijjani Noslin - Loan from Lazio with option-to-buy: A deadline day panic deal? Possibly. The 28-year-old Dutch winger arrived on a loan deal just before the window closed. Another player capable of doing a job in multiple positions, the ex-Hellas Verona man was most likely brought in to provide cover during the Toffees’ packed fixture schedule.

Everton predicted summer transfer window - players sold and loaned out

Michael Keane - free agent move to Getafe: A loyal servant with over 250 games for the club, Keane called time on his Everton career upon the expiry of his contact. He didn’t have long to wait for a new club, with a host of sides across Europe keen to get him in for one last dance. Getafe proved to be the most persuasive option, after spending his whole career to date playing in England.

Beto - £25m to Brentford: Now, this is an interesting one. With no out-and-out striker signed, we must presume that Lewis-Potter was signed to lead the line, something that he has done before. Either that, or Thierno Barry must have impressed enough in pre-season to be given another crack at being the Toffees’ main man up top.

Harrison Armstrong - £4m to Wolves: After Wolves plunged into the Championship, a number of their top players were snapped up, requiring them to undergo a major rebuild. After a decent season on loan with Preston North End, Wolves decided to reinvest some of their funds in a low-cost move for the promising Everton academy product.

Adam Aznou - £10m to Fortuna Dusseldorf: He made just one appearance for Everton before being sold in the summer. The club made a slight profit, at least, helping them take strides to ensure they kept in line with the Premier League’s financial regulations.

Justin Clarke and Freddie Murdoch - MTK Budapest on loan: A nice double deal here to round things off, with the promising academy duo heading out to Hungary on loan.
