West Ham United haven’t seen the best of Soungoutou Magassa since his summer move.

The Frenchman came in from Monaco in an effort to add some steel to the middle of the park at the London Stadium.

Graham Potter shortly departed after he came in before Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed in September.

Things haven’t worked out for the midfielder under the Portuguese head coach despite a string of first-team opportunities in East London.

Magassa could be on his way out of West Ham in the near future as we round up what we know about his current deal.

What is Soungoutou Magassa’s contract situation at West Ham?

The summer signing hasn’t lived up to expectations in E20 after the Hammers beat competition to land his signature.

He has been inconsistent in the Premier League, wearing claret and blue, something which has been reflected in his gametime.

Nuno has been much more willing to utilise Mateus Fernandes alongside Tomas Soucek, while Magassa and Freddie Potts continue to struggle.

While the Englishman is an academy product and will do his best to play for the Irons, the same may not be true for the former Monaco man.

He could look to depart E20, but he only put pen to paper on a five-year deal lasting until 2030 last summer.

As part of that deal, he will reportedly be paid £35,000 per week, equating to a yearly wage in the region of £1.8million.

Magassa could soon be on his way out of West Ham, as it feels increasingly unlikely that he will turn things around.

When could Magassa leave West Ham?

Sometimes, the Premier League just isn’t suited to certain players.

The 22-year-old seemed ready for the step, thanks to his physical attributes, which looked destined to make him an excellent number six in East London.

That hasn’t been the case, and he has instead struggled for regular minutes, and when given the chance, hasn’t really thrived.

Magassa could look to call time on his London Stadium career after just 12 months when the summer window opens, assuming that the right fee comes in.

That will take a step up in likelihood if the Hammers are relegated from the Premier League as it feels unlikely that he will play in the Championship.
