Chelsea interested in Ivorian midfielder

Chelsea will hope to put an end to their dire run of form when they host Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Blues were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City on Sunday and have now won just one of their last six games across all competitions, losing the other five.

Liam Rosenior is under increasing pressure to turn his side’s fortunes around, but the visit of the Red Devils to Stamford Bridge on Saturday night will likely be another tough test.

In the meantime, though, it has emerged that Chelsea are keeping tabs on a talented young midfielder who has been impressing in the Turkish Super Lig.

As reported by Sports Boom, Chelsea are among a number of Premier League clubs monitoring Trabzonspor midfielder Christ Inao Oulai.

The report claims that the 20-year-old midfielder is emerging on the radars of several Premier League clubs, with Brighton and Hove Albion, and Bournemouth having scouted the player during Trabzonspor’s recent games against Fenerbahce and Basaksehir.

Both Chelsea and London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also said to have sent scouts to watch the Ivory Coast international in action on numerous occasions this term, and it appears increasingly likely that he could be on the move in the near future.

Oulai joined Trabzonspor from French outfit Bastia last summer and is enjoying an incredible debut season in Turkey.

The Ivorian has made 23 appearances for Trabzonspor across all competitions so far this term, and his impressive displays have put him on the radar of several Premier League sides.

Oulai is under contract in Trabzon until the end of the 2029/30 campaign, which puts his current side in a strong position.

Trabzonspor paid just £4.79 million to sign the player last year, but the report suggests that offers below £35 million will not even be considered by the Turkish giants this summer.
