Liverpool supporters do not think their team can get back into Tuesday night’s Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain despite an encouraging weekend win over Fulham.
Arne Slot’s rotated Reds put in a better performance against the Cottagers, with Rio Ngumoha and Mohamed Salah providing the goals.
But although the win will ensure a better general mood at Anfield for PSG’s visit, Rousing The Kop readers have voted on TalkingPoints to declare that they do not think Slot’s team are capable of a turnaround.

Liverpool fans not expecting to advance past PSG
In terms of a pure vote, our TalkingPoints poll has perhaps been closer than some might have imagined.
Although 64% of voters thought Liverpool were heading out at the time of writing, that leaves 36% – and nearly 400 people – who felt otherwise.
Nevertheless, comments from fans were less positive, with the vast majority of supporters expecting that the Reds’ Champions League journey will come to an end on Tuesday.
“No. Liverpool lack tactical consistency right now,” one fan said. “The system keeps changing from game to game, so the team doesn’t have a clear structure or identity. It also looks like Slot prefers Kerkez over Robertson, suggesting he wants a different kind of fullback profile. I would love to see Ekitike playing alongside Isak.”

“PSG WILL score at Anfield,” someone else commented. “It will take a miracle for us to score 3 against them, even at home. We’re still too wasteful in front of goal.”
“Would like to think it’s do-able but, given the way we don’t close down teams outside our 18 yd box, PSG will get too many scoring opportunities and won’t waste them this time round,” another supporter weighed in.
Fans lack belief in Slot’s ability to inspire
The main reason for supporters’ pessimism is unlikely to be a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to Liverpool’s season. Clearly, fans on TalkingPoints simply do not think Slot is capable of inspiring a comeback.
“I am sorry to say but under Slot not a hope in hell’s chance we can turn this around,” someone said. “Why FSG have kept him on I don’t know, but Slot is way out of his depth here and is ripping our team to shreds.”
“If Slot gets fired and replaced before the match, then there’s a chance,” another claimed, with one more simply adding: “Not with this manager.”
More fans were in agreement, with someone else saying: “Not with this manager. He doesn’t seem to know what you do and the players are not supporting him.”

Some positivity still remains
Despite the general gloominess, there was some positivity amongst the fanbase left, with some people clearly still believing that the Anfield factor could make the difference.
“We most certainly can turn things around. We have done it so many times and we will do it again,” one person said, with another claiming: “Yes we are well known for it and we will do it again against PSG.”
“In football everything is possible,” another claimed. “Anfield has always be a fortress in Europe, I think we can pull a comeback.”
“Surely they’re done, but you just never know with Anfield!” was one more verdict.
You just never know with Anfield. That has to be the mantra for fans heading to Tuesday’s game, and with nothing really left to lose from such a disappointing season, hopefully the message seeps out onto the pitch. Come on, Liverpool!
