“They’re Awful” | Brutal verdict on relegation rivals leaves West Ham fans hoping

SKY’s Jamie Carragher seems to be both warming to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side and losing patience with one of West Ham’s relegation rivals after this weekend’s round of Premier League games were subject to the pundit’s scrutiny in his typical blunt manner.

The former Liverpool centre back had something of a rant live on Sky on Sunday after seeing Tottenham’s abject performance against Sunderland.

New coach Roberto de Zerbi evidently didn’t impress: Without any sign of a new manager bounce, Tottenham slipped to a lethargic 1 – defeat and are now two points behind the Hammers.

As footballfancast.com reported, Carragher didn’t hold back with a pretty damning verdict on De Zerbi’s side:

West Ham United ramped up the pressure on Tottenham by thrashing Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 on Friday night, and the north Londoners were unable to respond in kind, coming up short at the Stadium of Light in De Zerbi’s first game in charge…. The Sky Sports pundit said:

Carragher’s verdict on De Zerbi’s Spurs? They’re awful

“You look at fixtures, you think that’s a good game for Tottenham. But they’re awful. Tottenham’s a good game for them. Wolves are bottom of the league. Do you think Tottenham will go there, and win?

No chance.”

West Ham, remember , lost 3-0 at Molineux in January. Which puts the Hammers’ recovery since then into even sharper contrast and illustrates perfectly the mountain Spurs may need to climb when they visit Molineux themselves on Saturday 25th April, after hosting De Zerbi’s old side Brighton next weekend.
