He expects to see more of the same from the Dutchman and his left-sided counterpart Ferdi Kadioglu.
Wieffer scored both goals in the 2-0 win at Burnley but had got into great positions, and had decent chances, in previous matches.
He has been operating at right-back for about a year now and Hurzeler believes it can take him all the way to this summer’s World Cup.
Asked how Albion keep getting Wieffer into centre-forward positions from right-back, Hurzeler told The Argus: “He has the quality and also the physicality that he can attack a lot, that he can run in a high speed distance.
“He wants to create this dynamic from behind, the same as for Ferdi and that is what we demand from our full-backs.
“He came also in the past into these situations. Now he used these moments quite well.
“He was very efficient, he had a very clever finish and that is what we like to see.”
Wieffer scored six goals from midfield in his second and last season for Feyenoord before heading to the Premier League.
He appeared in the heart of the Burnley penalty area to open his account for the current campaign.
Wieffer said: “We practise a lot in training about plays in the box, full-backs joining the box.
“The first goal was a really good example of that.
“The second goal, I just followed the attack and it came to my feet and I just shot into the corner.
“I am really happy to help the team and get an important 2-0 win.”
Albion are closing in on several sides above them who had seemed out of reach as they now prepare to visit Tottenham Hotspur.
Wieffer said: “We have to work hard and that’s the main thing.
“We played also good games where we lost so, in the end, it is all about hard work and then we see where we end up.”
Wieffer has three assists in the Prem, a tally bettered in the Albion ranks only by Yankuba Minteh, with four.
Lovers of stats might also note his tally of 0.9 key passes per game is behind only Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma and Pascal Gross among Albion players who have had significant game time.
