Liverpool can now sign "complete midfielder" in £60m deal this summer - journalist

Liverpool have been linked with a move for VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller this summer, and now a promising new update has emerged regarding his future.

The Reds desperately need to add more quality and depth in the middle of the ground, with Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister having a tough season alongside one another.

Stiller is one name who has been mentioned as an option for Liverpool in the summer transfer window, as he continues to be a key figure for Stuttgart.

Speaking to Football Insider, journalist Pete O’Rourke explained that as much as £60m could be enough for Liverpool to get their man, but some of their Premier League rivals are also “interested” in signing him:

“You’re probably looking at 50 to 60 million pounds to prise him away from Stuttgart. When I’ve seen Stiller, I’ve liked him, and he has done well in Europe as well. Stuttgart have been quite smart with what they have done here, with the release clause move meaning that they can demand a big fee for him in the summer.

“When you have the likes of Man United, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Liverpool interested in you, it means you are a top player with huge potential. I don’t think Stuttgart would stand in his way if they got a big offer for him in the summer.”

Angelo Stiller would add much-needed legs to Liverpool’s midfield

There is plenty to admire about Stiller as a midfielder, not least his tenacious style, with an average of 1.4 clearances and 1.3 tackles per game in the Bundesliga this season.

The 25-year-old also has creativity in his game, registering five assists in the league, while Rising Ballers have hailed him on X in the past, saying:

“Not seen a player as consistent as he’s been this season with the shifts he’s been putting in. No midfielder has a higher defensive duel win rate than him. This guy is different. All the big clubs need to be on his case this summer because Stiller is a complete midfielder. Has everything you need. What a baller.”

At 25, Stiller would be arriving at Liverpool as an experienced player, but also someone who is young enough to still have his peak years ahead of him.

While not a guaranteed starter if he did join, he would arguably represent an upgrade on Curtis Jones and push to play regularly, especially given Mac Allister’s struggles this season.
