Liverpool team predicted to face PSG in the Champions League quarter-final second leg at Anfield.

Liverpool aim to pull off the latest miracle in the club’s rich European history when they welcome Paris Saint-Germain to Anfield in the Champions League quarter-final second leg.

St-Etienne, Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona and most famously AC Milan are all etched into Reds folklore. And if Arne Slot’s side can overcome PSG then it will go down as another famous night.

Liverpool trail 2-0 on aggregate after last week’s comprehensive loss in the French capital. There will not be too many giving the Reds a hope against the current European Cup holders but Kopites know what is capable under the lights at Anfield.

Slot’s side will have little margin for error against a PSG attack that is the best in the world - while the Liverpool head coach must get all of his decisions spot-on.

A 2-0 win over Fulham last weekend was a confidence-booster but the Reds are well aware of the step up in competition they face.

With everything in mind, here is the Liverpool team predicted.

GK - Giorgi Mamardadshvili

Made a few big saves in the first leg to keep the scoreline down and he will no doubt expect another busy evening.

RB - Jeremie Frimpong

Had a decent game against Fulham as he showed his pace and that will be important, as well as using speed to quell PSG’s Nuno Gomes.

CB - Ibrahima Konate

Had a tough game in the first leg but should have a point to prove against his hometown club.

CB - Virgil van Dijk

The Liverpool captain will know more than most that no mistakes can be afforded if a comeback is to be achieved.

LB - Milos Kerkez

It is somewhat of a dilemma when it comes to selecting Kerkez of the experience of Andy Robertson, who played well against Fulham. But given Kerkez’s athleticism, he might just have the edge.

CM - Ryan Gravenberch

Needs to be a shield for the back four as well as contribute going forward.

CM - Dominik Szoboszlai

Playing in a deeper role against Fulham really suited Liverpool’s player of the season and that is something that Slot could continue with.

RW - Mo Salah

Scored a trademark goal against Fulham and Salah will want to show the world he is still very much capable of dining at the top table.

AM - Florian Wirtz

Purchased for £100m last summer, Kopites will be hoping that Wirtz can take this game by the scruff of the neck and deliver.

LW - Hugo Ekitike

Endured a difficult night in the first leg but was completely rested for the Fulham game so he should be fresh. Will want to deliver against his former club. Rio Ngumoha might just be saved for later in the game.

ST - Cody Gakpo

Primarily operated as a left-winger this season but Slot may just feel that Ekitike could do more damage out wide.

Woodman, Miscuir, Gomez, Robertson, Jones, Mac Allister, Nyoni, Isak, Chiesa.
