Liverpool have TSG Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Touré on their target list for the summer.

Mohamed Salah will leave Anfield at the end of this season, and the Reds have to bring in a replacement.

Prior to Salah’s announcement in March, RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande was an option for Liverpool.

The Premier League side continue to chase Diomande, but he isn’t the only one on their list. His compatriot, Touré, is also on their agenda.

Last week, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany of the Reds sent a scout to watch the Ivory Coast international closely against Scotland in March. The same report also said Hoffenheim need around €40m.

Liverpool interest backed up

Sky Deutschland pick up on that and cover the latest on the Merseyside club’s interest in the 20-year-old.

Bazoumana Touré joined the German club from Hammarby IF in February 2025. He failed to score and contributed three assists from 13 matches in the second half of last season.

However, the winger has improved this season, and his Bundesliga stats are as follows:

Appearances: 25

Starts: 24

Goals: 3

Assists: 8

Expected Goals: 3.55

Expected Assists: 4.53

Big chances created: 7

Big chances missed: 3

Having already sent an official to follow him last month, Arne Slot’s side now express their interest. The Bundesliga have been ‘officially informed’, meaning Liverpool formally register interest in the attacker.

The youngster doesn’t have a release clause, allowing Hoffenheim to set a price. In the event of a sale, the German club are demanding a club-record fee. Their current record is €43.5m from Joelinton’s sale to Newcastle United in 2019.

In other words, Liverpool have to pay over €43.5m to secure Touré ‘s services in the next window.

Last Friday, Hoffenheim sporting director Andreas Schicker hinted this during a chat with Sky.

“Bazou has developed very well. We brought him in from Sweden a year and a half ago,” he said.

“You can see week after week what qualities he brings. With him, it’s like this: if there’s interest, which you can tell because he delivers week after week, then it has to be on a level that Hoffenheim haven’t seen before.”

Sky insists he’s likely to change clubs after this season, and it’ll be interesting to see where he’ll end up,

Contract, value and agent info

Bazoumana Touré initially signed a contract until 2029 and hasn’t received an extension since moving to Germany.

His value, as per Transfermarkt, has increased in the last 18 months from €9m to €35m now. Agency Unique Sports Group are managing the Liverpool target.
