Not only was Mavropanos integral to the Hammers’ clean sheet, but he also scored two goals at the London Stadium.

“It was the biggest game of their season, and Mavropanos had a dominating performance in defence while also producing two goals.

Taty Castellanos of West Ham United celebrates scoring their 3rd goal with Crysencio Summerville during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers at London Stadium on April 10, 2026 in London, United Kingdom.

While Mavropanos has been excellent lately, his West Ham teammate Taty Castellanos has struggled since joining the club in January.

Therefore, the Argentinian striker’s performance against Wolves was even more significant and deserving of applause from Deeney.

“He had a very poor Serie A season, but now he has found a home that fits,” Deeney said. “Both his goals were scrappy, but who cares?

“Two goals for a striker in a massive game – the biggest game of the season for West Ham.”

Hammers supporters will be optimistic that Castellanos has taken great confidence from his brace and can continue to deliver the goods.

After all, his goals could be the difference between Premier League survival and relegation.
