Leeds United had Noah Okafor to thank in their 2-1 win over Manchester United on Monday.

The Switzerland international remained in the starting XI despite injury concerns and made an immediate impact at Old Trafford.

He bagged a brace after just 29 minutes and ultimately helped the Whites on their way to a huge three points against Michael Carrick’s side.

The early strikes from the forward cancelled out a second-half header from Casemiro as the away side saw out victory at the Theatre of Dreams.

Leeds’ win over Man United sparked passionate celebrations as Troy Deeney was left delighted for Daniel Farke.

The LS11 faithful have only ever known pain in the league when travelling to Old Trafford, but not anymore.

A first league win away to the Red Devils since 1981 was well deserved as the Whites made their chances count when they came.

The second half was certainly hairy for the away side, even after Lisandro Martinez was sent off for a hair pull on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The Red Devils continued to push and came so close to an equaliser, but Leeds were able to shut them out to seal an all-important victory.

Farke’s emotions were clear for all to see at full-time as Deeney picked the German as the manager in his BBC Sport Team of the Week.

He said: “Unbelievable result for Leeds, especially when you look at how things have gone with West Ham winning and Forest getting a result. It just feels like it was a massive moment for him. His celebrations at the end showed that. It’s a huge three points for Leeds and Farke.”

Erling Haaland loved Leeds’ win over Man United as the positive vibes continue to surround the Elland Road outfit after sealing a massive three points.

Deeney picks out Noah Okafor after Leeds United win

Farke’s men got off to the perfect start at Old Trafford when Okafor’s excellent finish opened the scoring after just five minutes.

No one expected the summer signing to then go on and grab another with his deflected volley, catching everyone out at Old Trafford.

He was also full of energy down the flank and has earned a place in Deeney’s Team of the Week and a glowing review.

The ex-Watford man said: “Two goals for him after putting in such a shift on that left-hand side. His double might have sealed Leeds staying in the Premier League, so fair play to him.”

Okafor has been great in LS11, albeit a bit inconsistent, so there will be hope now that he can kick on and prove himself in the Premier League.
