Dominic Calvert-Lewin says he is thankful he could make up for his missed chances by producing a late goal-line clearance to help Leeds United to a historic win at Manchester United.
Calvert-Lewin squandered two golden chances in either half, putting a third-minute cross straight at home goalkeeper Senne Lammens from five yards out, before directing a free header into his gloves in the second half.
His aerial presence led to Noah Okafor’s tidy opener, his leap with Leny Yoro seeing the ball fall the goalscorer’s way - though Michael Carrick believes the Leeds striker had fouled his defender.
Calvert-Lewin was involved in Lisandro Martinez’s red card too, the Man Utd centre-back adjudged to have pulled the hair of the attacker. Asked about this after full-time, the England international said he ‘does not make the rules’, having felt the tug and informed the referee.

Leeds United have is offering this season's home, away and third adult jerseys for £25 ahead of their trip to Wembley FA Cup semi-final.
On his own personal game, Calvert-Lewin said he was delighted to make up for his missed chances by being in the right place to clear away Casemiro’s header on 86 minutes, also blocking Manuel Ugarte's follow-up.
"I was just in the moment, switched on, engaged and waiting, doing my job,” he told Sky Sports. “Thankfully I was there to clear the ball off the line and arguably it made up for the ones that I should've put away at the other end."
Calvert-Lewin has scored 11 goals this season, but has yet to find the net in the Premier League in nine weeks. Yet what else he brings to the team was displayed at Old Trafford, namely his aerial duels leading to both of Okafor’s strikes.
Okafor was asked about the second of these, and said: "I think I hit well, I tried because if you don't try then the ball can't go in. I tried and scored my second goal so I am really happy about that.
"It brought us even more into the game and we knew we had to defend as a team. We did well so really, really excited and happy."

Leeds, who recorded their second Premier League away win of the season with the scalp against Man Utd, play bottom club Wolverhampton Wanderers at home on Saturday - the last team they beat away back in September.
Calvert-Lewin says the result means United can carry momentum into next weekend’s clash albeit with a mindset of not being complacent.
“It's important we don't read too much into the external noise and continue to focus on what's in front of us,” Calvert-Lewin added.
"It's easy to come here and make history, but it doesn't matter come the end of the season when the points tallies are in. That's all we're focused on - one game after another, making sure that we stay in the Premier League.”

He concluded: “For us as players, we have got to focus on the next game and until we are mathematically safe in the Premier League, we have not done our job.”
