EFL club slap £15m price tag on Leeds United, Newcastle United and Everton-linked star - report

The latest on Swansea City’s Žan Vipotnik amid talk of interest from the likes of Leeds United

Swansea City have reportedly slapped a £15m price tag on Leeds United-linked marksman Žan Vipotnik.

The 24-year-old is currently on track to win the Championship Golden Boot, the award scooped by Leeds’ Joel Piroe last year.

Vipotnik has weighed in with a remarkable 21 league goals this season, as well as a further two in the Carabao Cup.

His explosive form has fuelled talk of interest from the Premier League and it appears Swansea could have quite the battle on their hands this summer.

Leeds are among those believed to have taken a look at the Slovenia marksman, who plays with Whites defender Jaka Bijol on the international stage. He has also been linked with Newcastle United, Everton, Aston Villa, Brentford, West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Sporting Lisbon.

Žan Vipotnik price set

According to Football Insider, Swansea will demand a fee of £15m for Vipotnik’s services when the summer transfer window opens.

He was only recently tied down to a new deal, but the Welsh club are said to be bracing themselves for offers.

The fact Viptonik is under contract until 2030 will strengthen Swansea’s position and make them less vulnerable to low-ball offers.

Even if Swansea do pocket a hefty fee, it would be a bitter blow to lose such a clinical forward. Vipotnik is five goals clear in the Championship top scorer charts, sitting above Coventry City’s Haji Wright. Coincidentally, Wright himself was linked with Leeds earlier on in the season.

A big summer ahead for Leeds United

Leeds took a huge stride towards Premier League safety by beating Manchester United 2-1 and will be hoping to plan for another year in the top flight.

Survival could open the floodgates for ambitious investment and a raft of attacking players have already been reported as potential targets for the Whites.
