Manchester United's back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has reportedly already agreed to leave the club in the summer transfer window. Bayindir has been stuck on the bench since Senne Lammens' arrival in September and is ready to leave Old Trafford to return to Turkey.

Bayindir joined United from Fenerbahce in September 2023 for a fee of £4.3million. He has made just 17 appearances for the club in two and a half years, having been behind Andre Onana and Lammens in the pecking order.

He started the 2025/26 season positively, with Ruben Amorim handing him starts after Onana was offloaded on loan to Trabzonspor. But the £18.2million signing of Lammens from Royal Antwerp changed things and he is now ready to quit.

Lammens has become the undisputed No.1 keeper and the goalkeeping department will see a major reshuffle this summer. United want to sell Onana permanently and now it has emerged that Bayindir is keen to join Besiktas.

Turkish outlet Fanatik report that the 27-year-old has agreed personal terms with Besiktas, who were strongly linked with a move for Bayindir in January. United are not expected to stand in the way of their second-choice goalkeeper and the transfer is expected to be announced once the season ends.

Bayindir played six Premier League games at the start of the season under Amorim's management, but has been rooted to the bench since the 3-1 defeat by Brentford on September 27. His United contract runs until June 2027, meaning the club will collect a small transfer fee for the keeper.

Onana, meanwhile, has two years left on his United contract and is reportedly not ready to give up on the club. The Cameroon international has made 26 appearances on loan at Trabzonspor and United are keen to find a buyer.

ESPN report that Onana's wages will increase significantly if the club qualify for the Champions League, making his exit even more important ahead of a crucial summer transfer window. Club chiefs hope to finance the arrival of a top-class midfielder through sales, with Onana joining fellow loanees Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund on the transfer list.

United are prioritising the signing of a central midfielder, but the pending departure of Bayindir - along with the desire to sell Onana - means another goalkeeper could be needed. Tom Heaton, a 39-year-old back-up goalkeeper, sees his contract expire at the end of June, meaning three keepers could leave the club.

A back-up goalkeeper to support Lammens isn't as high up the priority list for chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox, but remains a consideration. It has been suggested that United could turn to the free agent market this summer to meet their needs without breaking the bank.
