Financial expert tips Chelsea transfer exodus if Liam Rosenior doesn’t secure Champions League finish

Chelsea are slowly slipping away from the top five places in the Premier League, and missing out on Champions League football could be devastating.

The Blues have no ambition to replace Liam Rosenior from his role as manager, even though the club have dropped down the table during his time in charge of the club.

A heavy defeat to Manchester City at the weekend piled more misery on Chelsea fans, who are starting to make their feelings known to the club that they are extremely unhappy with what is currently going on at Stamford Bridge.

So far, the Blues have not had to part ways with any big name players as a result of their financial woes, however this could change should they not make the top five this season.

Financial expert Kieran Maguire has exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that the Blues may have to sell more than they would ideally like should they not reach the Champions League for next season.

He said: “I suspect Chelsea have budgeted for a season, both with Champions League and without Champions League football next season. They do have an awful lot of saleable inventory.

“Should they not achieve that, and they would have to adjust their budget quite significantly. I think the big problem for Chelsea is because they’ve adopted this long contract, long amortization policy for player recruitment a few years ago.

“That means that the book value of players is going down very slowly, and therefore their ability to book profits on players unless they are academy players is restricted somewhat, so it probably means they’d have to sell more than they would like to should they not participate in European competition.”

Clearlake will NOT sell Chelsea, they are prepared to buy out Todd Boehly and increase their stake even more 💰

Big-name Chelsea players flirting with move away

The fact that Chelsea are struggling to compete for the Premier League or Champions League with the quality of player they have suggests they won’t all be happy to wait around forever.

Enzo Fernandez publicly shared his love for Real Madrid during the international break, seeing him pick up an internal two-game suspension.

Teammate Marc Cucurella avoided a ban from the club but still left doubt in Chelsea fans’ mind regarding his future, mentioning Barcelona as a side he would love to play for.

While there is currently no indication that the likes of Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo want to leave the club, however missing out on the Champions League could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back in that regard.
