Danny Dyer’s nightmare move | Rival’s plan for West Ham duo looks dead in the water

Back in mid January before Tottenham’s home game against West Ham, I overheard several Spurs fans discussing how much they would like to see both Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville in a Tottenham shirt next season, in their words “post-West Ham’s relegation”.

How fitting it was that Nuno’s team came away with three points in that game, where Summerville looked a constant danger. Football moves fast, and the landscape around Spurs has shifted just as quickly, mostly in ways that make both transfers far less likely than they once seemed.

Reports suggested Tottenham were lining up a combined move worth around £75m, with West Ham “braced for war” to keep their stars if they stayed up but resigned to losing them if relegated struck.

Spurs’ interest in West Ham duo looking pretty unlikely now

The logic was simple, Tottenham needed pace, creativity, and end-product in wide areas. Bowen and Summerville have been two of West Ham’s few bright spots in a difficult season. If West Ham went down, both players would almost certainly push for moves.

The problem for Tottenham is that their own situation has deteriorated. They have slipped deeper into the relegation fight, currently in 18th place below West Ham, and suddenly the entire premise of the double swoop became unstable.

Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville warm up for West Ham

Tottenham rumoured to be interested in both West Ham stars: No longer looking likely.

Tottenham are now seen as one of the likeliest teams to go down. If they drop, all summer plans including big-money signings collapse instantly.

If Spurs stay up, they might still try but they’ll be competing with stronger clubs, and West Ham’s stance will harden if they survive. If Spurs go down, the conversation ends immediately. There is a word “Karma”, and I for one hope that is a word I write about after this season ends.

Jarrod Bowen’s father in law Mr Danny Dyer

Of course Bowen might also have the small matter of his father in law Actor Danny Dyer to deal with if the subject of a north London move ever became a possibility: As GiveMeSport.com confirmed, West Ham’s captain would only be allowed to move to two clubs: And most definitely, neither one is Spurs!
