Liverpool eyeing move to sign 'explosive' Bundesliga star in record-breaking deal - Sky Sports

Liverpool have expressed interest in signing Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure ahead of the summer, according to Sky Sports Germany.

The Anfield side have identified the 20-year-old as a potential target amid his impressive Bundesliga campaign, with three goals and 11 assists in 25 appearances.

Hoffenheim are aware of Liverpool’s growing interest and remain in a strong negotiating position for the winger, who is under contract until the summer of 2029.

Toure joined Hoffenheim from Swedish side Hammarby in February 2025 and reportedly has no release clause in his deal.

According to Sky Sports Germany, while Toure’s departure appears likely this summer given his impressive form, Hoffenheim plan to make the 20-year-old their most expensive sale ever.

That means Liverpool would have to pay more than the £40m Hoffenheim received from Newcastle United for midfielder Joelinton in the summer of 2019.

Hoffenheim sporting director Andreas Schicker confirmed this stance last week, telling Sky Sports Germany:

“Bazou has developed very well. We brought him in from Sweden a year and a half ago. You can see week after week what qualities he brings.

“With him, it's like this: if there's interest – which you can tell because he delivers week after week – then it has to be in a league that Hoffenheim hasn't seen before.”

The report further claims that Liverpool have become the first top English club to express interest in Toure ahead of the summer, with Hoffenheim informed of their admiration for the player.

The ‘explosive’ 20-year-old has arguably been one of the Bundesliga’s standout performers in recent months, registering seven goal contributions in his last 10 league appearances.

Liverpool Aiming to Replace Mo Salah

Mohamed Salah

Liverpool have placed the signing of a new winger at the top of their agenda ahead of the summer amid the impending exit of Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian forward is set to depart Anfield in June after agreeing to terminate his contract early, bringing an end to his nine-year spell on Merseyside.

Liverpool are also believed to be eyeing RB Leipzig rising star Yan Diomande as another potential successor, though a deal for the Ivorian is expected to be costly.

The Bundesliga club are reportedly demanding around €100m (£87m) for Diomande’s signature this summer, with the player under contract until June 2030.
