Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola will reportedly leave the club this summer amid rumours of a potential switch to Manchester United. The Reds are continuing to be linked with several potential candidates to become the club’s manager on a permanent basis from this summer.

Michael Carrick was appointed by United back in January on an interim basis until the end of the season, with the task of guiding the club back into the Champions League.

Iraola is one of the candidates who has been linked with becoming United’s new manager from the summer, and now a fresh update has emerged about his future.

The Athletic have reported that Iraola will leave Bournemouth at the end of the season when his contract at the Vitality Stadium comes to an end.

Iraola’s contract at Bournemouth will expire at the end of the campaign, with the Cherries said to have made several attempts to try and convince the 43-year-old to remain on the south coast.

However, it seems that Iraola, who has also been linked with the Athletic Bilbao job, has decided to leave Bournemouth this summer, which could give United a major decision to make on who will be in the Old Trafford dugout next season.

Iraola is one of several candidates to be linked with the United manager’s job, as is Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner.

Just like Iraola, Glasner is expected to leave his current job at the end of the season, with United rumoured to be a potential destination for the Palace manager.

Iraola and Glasner will no doubt be an attractive proposition for United, given they wouldn't have to shell out any money for the free agents. United have been stung in the past in that regard, having spent £11m to get previous manager Ruben Amorim through the door, only for the move not to work out.

Carrick has also emerged as a candidate to be awarded the job at United on a permanent basis, thanks to his impressive impact at the club since being appointed earlier this year. He has put United in a commanding position for Champions League football next season, though he suffered his second defeat in charge against Leeds on Monday night.

United currently find themselves in third place in the Premier League table, level on points with fourth-placed Aston Villa and three ahead of Liverpool in fifth following the 2-1 loss to Leeds.
