Andoni Iraola is set to leave AFC Bournemouth at the end of the season and it could have a knock-on effect for Celtic’s managerial search.
Iraola has been linked with the Hoops in the past, but any hopes of a move to Glasgow look slim.
Reports suggest he’s eyeing a step up either to a bigger Premier League club or a return to Spain, with links to Athletic Bilbao gaining traction.
That effectively rules him out of Celtic’s plans.
But the bigger impact could come from who replaces him.
The Athletic say that Kieran McKenna is reportedly high on Bournemouth’s shortlist, a name Celtic fans will recognise.
He was heavily linked with the Hoops during their search to replace Brendan Rodgers, but a move never materialised amid complications around timing and release clauses.
Now, if McKenna heads to the south coast, that’s another potential option off the table for Celtic this summer.
There’s also movement elsewhere.
The Sun note that Marco Rose, another name previously linked with Celtic, is also in the running for the Bournemouth job.
In short, the dominoes are starting to fall.
And as clubs across Europe begin to make their moves, Celtic’s options could quickly narrow.
