Liverpool have been linked with a move for Newcastle United and England winger Anthony Gordon this year.
After it was confirmed that Mohamed Salah is leaving Anfield at the end of 2025/26, it emerged that Gordon was a potential target on a seven-man shortlist that also included the likes of Yan Diomande.
More recently, it has been said that Newcastle may have PSR issues, which could play a role in the winger leaving. This claim has since been echoed by Fabrizio Romano, who has suggested the Englishman could now be on the move in the next window.

Liverpool target Anthony Gordon could be on his way out of Newcastle
Speaking on his YouTube channel this week, Romano said Gordon could leave St James’ Park if a ‘big proposal’ comes in.
He mentioned potential interest from Germany while also mooting clubs in the Premier League looking at the player, who joined Newcastle back in 2023 for £45m (BBC Sport).
Romano stated: “According to my info, there is a possibility Newcastle sell one or two top players in the summer transfer window. It’s about Financial Fair Play, it’s about the cost of the squad, so they have to consider exits; it could be one, could be two, based on opportunities, proposals, and what players want to do.
“Anthony Gordon has chances to leave Newcastle in the summer transfer window. There is a lot of interest also in Sandro Tonali, and let’s see what happens with Bruno Guimaraes. I’m not saying that Newcastle are going to sell all these players, that’s not the case. Newcastle will try to keep as many as possible.

“But, at the moment, there is a possibility Anthony Gordon could be on his way out of Newcastle in case of a big proposal.
“There are several clubs interested, also from the Premier League. I would not underestimate Premier League clubs in this race for Anthony Gordon in case there is a door open to his exit in the summer.”
“At the moment, what I’m told is that it’s still early, with several clubs involved, with the first round of discussions around Anthony Gordon.
“Interest also from the Premier League, not only from Germany or other countries.”
Liverpool warned against Anthony Gordon transfer
Gordon has 17 goals and five assists in 46 matches across all competitions, more than both Cody Gakpo and Salah.
He has notched one of the highest recorded speeds in the Champions League this term as well, which would no doubt please Slot, given how slow the majority of his current wide players are.
However, Ally McCoist suggested that Gordon struggles against low blocks when discussing him as a potential replacement for Salah at Liverpool late this month.
He said: “I like Anthony Gordon. I’m not sure his overall quality would entice Liverpool.
“I think Anthony Gordon who, his pace is suited to play against the higher line teams that have the ball.”
