Former Chelsea manager in the frame to replace Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth

Frank Lampard has emerged as a shock contender to succeed Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth, with the Cherries reportedly considering the Chelsea legend.

Frank Lampard has redeemed himself after his stints at Chelsea. He’s transformed Coventry City from Championship mid-table dwellers into the division’s most dominant force.

Since taking charge in late 2024, Lampard has shed his reputation for defensive fragility, engineering a system that boasts a remarkable +42 goal difference, the best in the second tier.

Currently sitting 10 points clear at the top of the table, Coventry are on the verge of ending their 25-year top-flight exile, a feat that has seen Lampard shortlisted for Championship Manager of the Season.

A stark difference, as Frank Lampard yielded just one win in eleven games in his second stint.

Frank Lampard in the running for the Bournemouth job

According to IPaper, Frank Lampard is one of the names in the frame for the Bournemouth job, despite being on the verge of promotion with Coventry City.

Kieran McKenna, Marco Rose and Inigo Martinez are other names in the running.

It remains to be seen as to whether Lampard would jump ship after taking Coventry to the Premier League, but Bournemouth would no doubt be a step up.

One clue is Lampard already looking at signing Chelsea youngster Jesse Derry as one of his first signings of the summer for the Sky Blues.
