Bayern Munich are now plotting a shock move to sign Sunderland star Brian Brobbey, who could make the Black Cats some serious profit.
Brobbey's impressive season by numbers
Sunderland deserve massive credit for how they've ended the curse of promoted sides this season. Unlike those before them, the Black Cats have pushed beyond the relegation battle and could even push into shock European contention before the current campaign comes to a close.
Their victory over Tottenham Hotspur marked yet another impressive afternoon, as they compiled the Lilywhites' misery and moved into the top half of the Premier League.
Once again Brobbey was a standout star for Regis Le Bris' side. The Dutchman has been a thorn in the side of most backlines that he's squared off against this season and he once again played his part against Tottenham.

The attacking star is becoming more and more untouchable at the Stadium of Light, but the summer transfer window could certainly test that resolve.

The Black Cats have been handed a huge advantage.
The last thing any successful promoted side need is to be picked apart by bigger clubs to welcome a classic case of second-season syndrome. Yet, with Bayern Munich lurking, that's exactly what could happen to Sunderland.
Bayern Munich plotting shock Brobbey move
As reported by The Independent's Miguel Delaney, Bayern Munich are now plotting a shock move to sign Brobbey, who could leave Sunderland for double the price he arrived for last summer.
The forward arrived for around £17.3m almost 12 months ago, but could head for the exit door for close to £50m if Bayern turn their interest into an offer.

It would certainly be a difficult offer for both those in Wearside and Brobbey himself to turn down. As far as Le Bris is concerned, though, the former Ajax man is also only getting better and better at Sunderland.
"He is getting better day-by-day. He’s impressive. We needed time as a team to find the right connections, the way we want to play with him and the way we want to use his strength. Now, he is becoming a big threat and that is good for the club.” (Le Bris)
His manager isn't the only one to praise his performances, either. Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher dubbed Brobbey "fantastic" after his late winner in the Tyne-Wear derby before the international break.

It's clear that the Sunderland star has the quality to play for a top side and with Bayern Munich calling, it could be a long summer for the Black Cats.
