The Friedkin Group has dispatched Everton officials to make in-person checks on attacking star Robin Mirisola ahead of a potential summer move.
Friedkin plotting attacking revamp at Everton
Whilst their 2-2 draw against Brentford on Saturday damaged their chances of qualifying for European football, the fact that Everton are back in that conversation is progress in itself.
It wasn't so long ago that they were scrapping away to keep hold of their Premier League status. Now, David Moyes has them within one point of the top six. That should be celebrated around the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Friedkin aren't stopping here, either. They want the football to match their impressive new stadium and are targeting an attacking revamp this summer.
Names such as Said El Mala have emerged as recent targets on that front and it's easy to see why the Toffees are interested in the FC Koln attacker.
Whilst Beto and Thierno Barry have struggled for consistency throughout the campaign, El Mala has been involved in 15 goals in all competitions. He is a player destined for big things, which should go hand-in-hand with Everton's ambitions.

David Moyes wants to build upon a fantastic campaign.
That said, the Bundesliga star isn't the only name on Everton's shortlist. The Toffees are also eyeing a move to sign a rising star, who could provide Barry with plenty of competition for years to come.
Everton officials make in-person checks on Mirisola
According to Sports Boom, Everton officials have now made in-person checks on Robin Mirisola after scouts were dispatched by Friedkin ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Genk teenager has already made his mark on first-team football in Belgium, scoring three goals in all competitions, and has done enough to earn interest from Merseyside.
After impressing at youth level, Mirisola also earned the praise of Antonio Mango. The U23 scout praised his technical ability, composure and "intelligent anticipation" inside the area - all traits that should eventually form a top striker.
If Everton are looking for an instant replacement for Beto, whilst also adding a future star, then the teenager is their man. Even if he doesn't steal the headlines right away, it's clear that Mirisola is one to watch.

Valued at around €25 (£22m), the Genk star to ditch his boyhood club won't be an easy task this summer, but European football would certainly help. And the same can be said for a number of Everton targets.
Whether it's Mirisola, El Mala or another option, it's clear just how important Friedkin's ambitions will be to get deals over the line in the coming months.
