Hugo Ekitike could miss the rest of the season and the World Cup after being stretched off during Liverpool's Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
The France international appeared to sustain a serious lower-leg injury during Tuesday’s clash at Anfield, which Liverpool lost 2-0 on the night and 4-0 on aggregate.
Ekitike went down midway through the first half and was seen clutching his ankle before receiving treatment while surrounded by his team-mates.
He was later taken off on a stretcher and replaced by Mohamed Salah, with Arne Slot admitting the injury looked ‘really bad’ amid concerns he may have suffered an Achilles problem.
