Chelsea are keen to sign Jarrod Bowen on one condition this summer - journalist

Chelsea have been credited with interest in signing West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen at the end of the season, however only if his side are relegated from the Premier League.

It looks as if it will be a straight shootout between Chelsea’s London rivals, West Ham and Tottenham, for who will be the surprise side to be relegated this season.

Spurs still have to travel to Stamford Bridge before the campaign is done, a stadium they have a very poor record at in the Premier League era.

You can sign ONE player from Spurs if they’re relegated, who are you choosing?

Chelsea want Jarrod Bowen if West Ham are relegated this season

Reports have already stated that Chelsea are keen on Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Bergvall should the North London side be relegated.

Now, Simon Phillips has reported that the Blues also have Bowen on their list should his side be relegated, with it likely that the fee would be far lower than what he is worth.

The report also states that they have an interest in Crysencio Summerville and Mateus Fernandes, who are both playing a key role in them pushing for survival.

Todd Boehly and co have been very keen to complete opportunistic signings, shown by the recent additions of Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho who fell out of favour at Manchester United.

Bowen would add experience Chelsea are crying out for

At 29 years of age, Bowen is only going to have a few more years at the top level, and would not be brought in on one of Chelsea’s traditional long contracts.

However, with bags of Premier League experience under his belt, he is the perfect player for the Blues to add to their ranks, especially when taking into account who he will be competing for minutes with.

Bowen and Estevao Willian would be the options for the right of the attack, allowing the Brazilian to have the perfect role model to work with before he moves on.

58 goal involvements over the past three Premier League seasons also suggests there is plenty he can bring the Blues on the pitch too should they make the move.
