Report: Nottingham Forest make decision on unwanted Pereira star, his valuation has nosedived

Nottingham Forest will undergo another summer rebuild regardless of the division the club finds themselves in next season.

The Reds haven’t really hit the jackpot this season when it comes to recruitment, and that will have to change in the summer transfer window.

🔢How many points do Forest take from this run of fixtures…

Forest could lose Elliot Anderson, Murillo and Morgan Gibbs-White, and if the trio depart, replacements will be sought in order to readjust the balance within the squad.

The January transfer window has proved pretty drab as well this time around, and now it would appear that Vitor Pereira is extremely adamant over the future of one player.

Lorenzo Lucca valuation plummets after Forest nightmare

Lucca was signed in January, seemingly as a striker who could fit in with the style of football that Sean Dyche wanted to utilise when he was at the football club.

However, Pereira hasn’t been including him in his matchday squads of late, with Taiwo Awoniyi seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order.

According to Area Napoli, the Naples-based outfit are desperately keen to offload Lucca in the summer and are set to offer the player out for a fee of £20 million.

That is half of the price that Forest were quoted as part of the loan deal, with a permanent deal now off the table amid his lack of game time and his Premier League struggles.

Lucca is unlikely to play for Forest ever again, and a return to Napoli can’t come soon enough for Lucca, who now awaits his next career move.

Forest need transfer reset

The appointment of Edu hasn’t been solely responsible for an abysmal couple of transfer windows, but it’s certainly not been helpful either.

In the summer, regardless of where Forest find themselves in the football pyramid, Evangelos Marinakis needs a complete reset on the recruitment front, and it can’t come soon enough.

Should Vitor Pereira use Lorenzo Lucca when he’s fit?

Edu is set to leave, and that will bode well, with the best bet to hand George Syrianos – renowned for positive transfers – more control over which players are added to the ranks.

Players like Lucca were never going to fit in with the ethos at Forest, and signings of this ilk need to be consigned to the past, with more emphasis placed on Premier League experience.
