David Moyes issues an update on Chelsea loanee Tyrique George's situation at Everton

David Moyes has dropped a major hint regarding the future of Chelsea loanee Tyrique George, making a promise that should benefit Everton and the Blues.

Chelsea loanee Tyrique George’s loan spell at Everton has been a lesson in patience, as the 20-year-old hasn’t had it all his own way. Despite arriving with high expectations, he has found Premier League starts hard to come by, featuring in just six league games for the Toffees.

However, his recent 16-minute cameo in the 2–2 draw at Brentford has injected fresh momentum, showing the directness and flair that made him a Cobham standout. George even nearly snatched a winner with a stinging effort that forced a fine save from Caoimhin Kelleher.

But it remains to be seen whether George has done enough for a permanent move.

David Moyes promises Tyrique George more minutes

Speaking after Everton’s win over Brentford, David Moyes shed some light on Tyrique George’s situation at the club.

“I was pleased. I’ve liked Tyrique and we’ll try and get him the minutes and opportunities when we can.”

“He’s got good control, he wants to score, I like that, and you saw that today.

“He wants to try and score and that was important for me because I think wide players nowadays, we’re asking [a lot of] them.”

You can sign ONE player from Spurs if they’re relegated, who are you choosing?

Tyrique George has no chance of a Chelsea return

Despite David Moyes’ recent praise, Tyrique George’s path back to the Chelsea first team appears increasingly blocked by a crowded and expensive blockade.

His loan at Everton may have been intended to be a stepping stone, but the 20-year-old returns to a Stamford Bridge that has already moved on. The confirmed summer arrival of Portuguese wonderkid Geovany Quenda in a £40 million deal makes it even harder.

With Pedro Neto firmly established on the left and Chelsea looking to sign another left winger in the summer, the competition for wide roles has reached a saturation point.
