Bayern Munich are ready to go all out in a bid to lure Anthony Gordon to Germany, with Newcastle vulnerable to losing the England winger if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Gordon, who joined the Magpies from Everton back in 2023, is contracted until 2030 and would command a significant transfer fee. The 25-year-old is Newcastle's top scorer this season with 17 goals in all competitions, 10 of which came in Europe's premier competition.

His form has not gone unnoticed in Munich, with Bayern keen on adding a new left-sided attacker to their squad despite Luis Diaz's stunning maiden season at the Allianz Arena.

The Times claim that Gordon is emerging as a priority transfer target for the German champions, with Bayern willing to pay more than £55m to get their man.

Bayern are even said to have already made contact with Gordon's camp to ascertain the conditions of any deal, though there have been no negotiations with Newcastle.

Gordon would compete with Diaz for a spot on the left prong of Bayern's attack. He could also be deployed as a centre forward after playing that role for Newcastle this term, with that adaptability giving Bayern the chance to rest Harry Kane on occasions. It is thought they are unlikely to sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea permanently after his season-long loan comes to an end.

Eddie Howe's team are currently 14th in the Premier League following a difficult 2025-26 campaign. With just six games remaining, securing European football for next season looks a tall ask.

That would leave the club vulnerable to losing some of their top players, with Gordon not alone in attracting strong transfer interest ahead of what is shaping up to be a seismic summer window.

Sandro Tonali continues to attract interest from both Arsenal and Manchester United and would also command a substantial transfer fee, while his midfield partner, club captain Bruno Guimaraes, is another player rival clubs will covet. Tino Livramento has also been heavily linked with Manchester City after a fine season.

It is anticipated that Newcastle will likely cash in on interest in at least one of their most saleable assets to help finance their own incoming transfer business.
