Manchester City would buy Tino Livramento “tomorrow” if they could agree a deal with Newcastle United.
That is according to former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider Eddie Howe’s side will be looking to sell a player for a profit to boost their financial situation this summer.
Livramento has been heavily linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium following his strong performances on Tyneside.
Pep Guardiola is looking to add a new right-back to his squad, with Matheus Nunes filling in on the right side of the defence this season.
However, Man City could have to spend big to sign Livramento after he’s emerged as a key player for Newcastle.

Why Newcastle could be forced to sell ‘key player’
BBC Sport reported on 9 April Newcastle are likely to sell at least one of Livramento, Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes or Anthony Gordon this summer.
Man City have also been linked with Tonali as they look to strengthen their midfield options this summer.

Tino Livramento’s stats for Newcastle this season
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson discussed Newcastle’s sale plans following their disappointing season.
“If they miss out on Europe, which looks inevitable now, you would think that they would maybe look to supplement the SCR position by selling a player,” said Borson.
“Then you look at who the candidates might be, and it’s got to be a player that’s going to bring in some book profits. There’s very little point in selling a player that doesn’t.
“They’re going to be caught slightly in that dilemma between an older player but one that’s critical, Guimaraes obviously is slightly older than the other players, but he’s probably also the most important player, so they’ve got that decision to make there.”
Who is most likely to agree Newcastle summer exit?
Borson insisted Man City would be keen on agreeing a deal for Livramento, but he believes Tonali is the most likely candidate to leave St James’ Park.
“Tonali feels like the most obvious one to go, just because his agent is clearly angling for it, presumably on behalf of the player,” said Borson.
“He’s just at the right age, just about where he can get a big move. If they leave it another season, it becomes harder.
“Then Livramento, of course, we know City would buy him tomorrow if a fee could be agreed.
“But what is the fee for Livramento that can work? Will City pay £70m? They might do, but there’s probably not any other buyer for Livramento at £70m in the world, so it’s a case of whether City would be prepared to go to £70m. I think it’s unlikely.
“That might mean that Tonali is a better bet, just because there’s more potential buyers.”
