Frank Lampard made it crystal clear he was “too focused on football” as he responded to claims over a contract extension at Coventry City earlier this year.
Sky Blues owner Doug King was said to be keen to tie Lampard down to a new deal at the CBS Arena back in January.
It was also said Lampard will have 12 months left on his current contract at the end of the season.
Asked by CoventryLive at the time about a new contract and whether there was any truth in the report about opening talks with King, Lampard said: “No. I’m too focused on football right now. I’m very happy here and focused on the football.”
