Report: Winger Everton wanted before Tyler Dibling now available for £20m with David Moyes…

Everton spent £40m to sign Tyler Dibling back in August, a deal which is yet to pay off.

The England U21 international has only made four Premier League starts this season having failed to convince David Moyes of his ability, with plenty of work required if the 20-year-old is to become a star at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The challenge could soon get harder for Tyler Dibling as Abdul Fatawu – a winger Everton wanted before eventually sanctioning that £40m deal – is now available for £20m.

How can Tyler Dibling actually turn things around at Everton? 🤷‍♂️

It's going to need some turnaround from the youngster 😫

Everton have opportunity to sign Abdul Fatawu for £10m below release clause

A story from Pete O’Rourke now states that Leicester are ready to sell the Ghana international for £20m this summer – despite his £30m release clause – as they prepare to drop into League One.

Fatawu – who Moyes personally admires, according to the Liverpool Echo – is also said to be eager to leave the King Power Stadium and make a return to the Premier League.

TEAMtalk reiterate the detail that Everton wanted the Leicester No.7 before Dibling last summer, but were priced out of a deal by the Foxes.

Fatawu has scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 41 Championship appearances so far this season, but a points deduction for Leicester in February now looks set to send the Foxes into League One – they have four games to save themselves.

The 22-year-old could well replace Dwight McNeil if an agreement materialises with Leicester.

It was well documented that McNeil came close to joining Crystal Palace in February, and despite returning to the starting XI in recent weeks, he could still be sold as he prepares to enter the final 12 months of his contract.

Fatawu is a similar player to the Everton No.7 – tending to cut inside from the right onto his stronger left foot – so on paper at least, he would seemingly be a fine replacement for the Englishman.
