Premier League confirm Leeds United vs Wolves decision - Whites desperate to avoid Burnley…

Officials have been appointed for Leeds United’s Premier League meeting with Wolves this weekend.

The Premier League have confirmed their latest round of referee appointments with Tim Robinson to take charge of Leeds United vs Wolves.

The Whites return to Elland Road this weekend fresh off the back of a historic 2-1 win at Manchester United on Monday. Noah Okafor’s first-half brace proved decisive as Daniel Farke’s side held off their 10-man hosts to claim a first league victory at Old Trafford since 1981.

Victory also pulled them six points above Tottenham in 18th, with the chance to go nine clear on Saturday ahead of Spurs hosting Brighton later in the afternoon. Elland Road visitors Wolves could be officially relegated this weekend and lost 4-0 at West Ham last time out, a 16th winless game on the road.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash, the Premier League have confirmed their latest round of official appointments with Robinson set to be in charge at Elland Road. He will be assisted by Lee Betts and Mat Wilkes, with Lewis Smith as fourth official and Nick Hopton on VAR duties.

Robinson’s 2025/26 duties have been split mostly between the Premier League and Championship, with nine and seven games refereed respectively. In the top-flight, he blows for 22.89 fouls and brandishes four yellow cards per game on average - making him slightly stricter than average compared to his colleagues.

One of Robinson’s nine Premier League games this season came at Turf Moor in October, with Leeds enduring a dismal 2-0 defeat to Burnley. The injury-hit Whites had Jack Harrison and Brenden Aaronson as their only available wide options and struggled to create anything of note against Scott Parker’s men.

Robinson has taken charge of two Wolves games so far this season which, like Burnley vs Leeds and Saturday’s Elland Road meeting, were both bottom-of-the-table affairs. They were also both against the same opponents, with the rock-bottom outfit’s home and away games against Nottingham Forest both involving this particular official.

Leeds will hope Saturday’s game passes without controversy and they can show their superiority to virtually-relegated Wolves. Farke’s side have largely been excellent at Elland Road, but for a recent blip, and will be full of confidence coming away from Old Trafford on Monday.

No one will be complacent, however, with Leeds needing to follow up that brilliant performance with an equally strong showing on Saturday. The visits of Wolves and Burnley to Elland Road have long been seen as opportunities to pull away from serious relegation trouble but neither will be a walkover.
